This is a simple crock pot recipe for any type of roast. The Bison Hump Roast is the Roast you get from the hump on its back. It’s a well exercised muscle so it tends to be tough.
Cook The Bison Hump Roast Low and Slow
Slow and Low. Allow the roast the proper time to cook over a very low heat, Do Not Rush your Dinner. That’s why the crock pot is perfect for cooking this meal. Let the crock pot do the baby-sitting while letting your house fill with the mouthwatering scent of bison.
Cooking Ingredients
- 3 lbs. Hump Roast (chuck)
- 1 can Beef Broth
- 3 6″ pieces of Celery
- 1/2 bottle Dark Ale Beer
If you are not into ale (beer) then use other liquids, try mushroom soup with a cup of red wine instead.
Preparation:
- Season the roast with steak seasoning, rubbing in well.
- Brown roast in olive oil in hot skillet.
- Cook in Crock Pot on low heat for 6 hours.
- (If you’re not a fan of beer, or you just want to try something different, substitute the ale for 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup and 1 cup of Red Wine).
